Alex's Story

Alex was an adorable, smart, happy, adventurous 22 month old who brought so much joy to everyone that knew her. Right from the very beginning she had an uncanny way of grabbing people’s attention. Born with a ton of jet black hair on her little newborn head, no one would have predicted her to become the blonde haired beauty that she was.

Alex had a true zest for life and lived each day to the absolute fullest. She was always on the go whether we were at or away from home. At home Alex enjoyed playing with all her toys and Sesame Street friends, reading books, dancing to rock music, coloring, painting and taking baths. Alex also always enjoyed leaving home to go on playdates, take long walks in her stroller, take trips to the local park and library, and to attend our weekly Mommy & Me class.

Like a typical almost 2 year old Alex was evolving each and every day. We couldn’t wait to see what each new day would bring. Her vocabulary was growing, she was becoming more and more adventurous, independent and of course opinionated! Alex brought a smile to the faces of everyone she met. She always greeted friends and strangers alike with a big wave. To know Alex was to love her. She left her mark wherever she went. At 22 months-of-age, Alex was on the verge of so many new adventures, skills and accomplishments. Tragically her life was cut way too short. On February 5, 2006 our lives were changed forever. Alex never woke up. To this day the cause of her death is still unknown.
